I Just Read a Report ...

Friday January 16, 2009
This morning, I was going through some economic research and came across a report that estimates roughly 10% of American homeowners are behind by at least one house payment. That means that a single missed paycheck or a medical problem could result in the foreclosure process beginning against them, which would be an even bigger problem for the overall economy. That's one of the highest numbers on record.

That got me thinking. Whatever happens, don't cancel your health insurance. If you were to get seriously sick or injured at a time when you weren't covered, it could very well wipe out all of your assets and put you and your family in the poorhouse. We talked about this in step-by-step guides such as How to Build a Complete Portfolio but it really is important enough to be repeated.
