What is a Portfolio?
When you hear an investor talk about their portfolio, they are referring to all of the stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investments they own.
If you owned 20 shares of McDonalds and 10 shares of Wal-Mart, your entire portfolio would consist of those thirty shares of stock. Almost everyone has a portfolio of some sort, whether it be a single EE Savings bond their grandparents bought them when they were growing up, or a collection of vintage baseball cards.
