Net Income

Definition:  Profit is the revenue subtracted by the cost of producing or securing the goods or services. 

Example: If a lemonade stand sold drinks for 10 cents a cup and it cost 3 cents per cup to make, then the profit is 7 cents per cup [10-3=7 or purchase price-cost=profit]
