Introduction

Associated Press and Jeff Siner
Each year, I complete an annual trek to the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, to hear Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, two of the most successful businessmen and investors in the world, host a six hour question-and-answer session. In 2006, over 24,000 shareholders made the trip; four or five hundred of whom were from outside of North America.

As usual, this year was a blast. In the following pages, I'll take you, the About reader, along with me for the experience. Before we begin, you may want to review the Warren Buffett biography, timeline, and other resources to see how the Oracle of Omaha took his holding company from a struggling $7 per share textile mill to a sprawling empire worth around $90,000 per share today. You may also want to check out his shareholder letters which are available for free on the Internet.
