The Trip to Omaha and Borsheim's Cocktail Reception - May 5, 2006

This year, I attended the meeting with my former college roommate and long-time best friend. We both live in the Midwest, so we met up and made the drive to Omaha. On the way, I read The Warren Buffett CEO, an excellent book by Robert P. Miles that details the numerous CEOs of Berkshire's operating subsidiaries.

We arrived at our hotel, unpacked our bags, and headed to Borsheim's, Berkshire's flagship jewelry store and second largest jewelry store in the world. The mall in which it is located is shut down and guarded by security so that only shareholders can attend. There was a buffet, open bar, and live musical entertainment. All of the prices in the store have been lowered at least 30% as a shareholder discount.
